Where is the "Day 1 In-Service" course?

Where is the "Day 1 In-Service" course?

Beginning in 2018, GCALS will not have classes dedicated to In-Service Days. This is to reduce issues when a staff member takes some online courses and some classroom courses as our facilities have different schedules for In-Service "Days".

If you wish to take all of your courses online you must take all of the "Mandatory" courses. These courses satisfy the mandatory training requirements for the Georgia Department of Corrections. There are many "Elective" courses available so that you can gain credit to meet other certifications requirements such as POST or ACA.

If you would like a course listing that should be followed for your facility please contact your facility trainer. This is recommended so if you decide to take a classroom course you can plan your online courses so that they don't overlap.
